Kevin Kunzer, MD, DABPN, FAPA is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with the Professional Practice Group at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. Prior to joining Pine Rest Dr. Kunzer served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine.

Dr. Kunzer earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington in 2003. While at IU, he served as a research assistant in the lab of Kenneth P. Nephew, PhD Professor of Cellular & Integrative Physiology, Indiana University School of Medicine, researching the Epigenetic Vulnerabilities of Ovarian Cancer Stem Cells. Dr. Kunzer is a graduate of Saba University School of Medicine, Netherlands Antilles, and earned his MD in 2008.

Dr. Kunzer was appointed Chief Resident and completed residency training at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine. His professional interests include clinical teaching of medical learners, psychosomatic medicine, consultation-liaison psychiatry and adult mental health in the outpatient setting.

Dr. Kunzer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (DABPN) and is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA).

Dr. Kunzer is a full-time outpatient Psychiatrist. He cares for Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients at Pine Rest Outpatient Clinic on Centre Avenue in Portage, Michigan. He is accepting new patients. Please call to schedule an appointment.
